Shoreline Splendor is a fine art photograph by McKay Larsen, displaying one of Utah's crystal clear mountain lakes, nestled in the peaks of the Wasatch and Ashley National Forests. Adventurous hikers marvel when encountering the peaceful setting of the Lower Red Castle Lake, with salmon colored rocks and contrasting greens of various plant species. The lake is fed by the recent winter snow pack, and the adjacent snow white glaziers that feed many nearby lakes, rivers and streams. This scene depicts the shoreline of Lower Red Caste Lake, with the cool early morning fog gently dispersing, during the sunrise over the high elevation terrain. The crystal clear Lower Red Castle Lake is a favorite destination for adventurous hikers and exploring scouts. This scene was captured at first light, on a cool summer morning in July 2017, while hiking in the High Uintas Wilderness area, with Troop 500, a local BSA scout troop.
